Read all questions →What is Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)?
RPL is a way for a training provider to assess skills you have developed through work, earlier study or other experience against the requirements of a qualification.
Who decides whether I qualify?
The relevant Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and its assessor make the assessment decision. NextGen Scholars helps you explore options and understand the next steps; an initial enquiry is not an assessment outcome.
How much does RPL cost, and how long does it take?
Ask for a written quote and an expected timeframe for your individual pathway. Fees and timing depend on the provider, qualification, evidence and any further assessment or training required.
Will I need to complete more training?
Possibly. Discuss which parts of your experience are relevant and ask the provider what happens if it identifies gaps. Do not assume that experience removes every training requirement.
Let’s work out your next step.
Tell us what you do and where you want to go. We’ll help you start the right conversation.
